RUSH WEST RUSH ROAD BRIDGE RE-ALIGNMENT (RUSH, NEW YORK)

Client: Monroe County Department of Transportation

This project involved the surveying and design of a 3,000 L.F. county highway that included a 40' span bridge  and  an  83  L.F.  box  beam culvert.  Approach  realignment consisting  of  complete pavement reconstruction with pavement markings and signage, water main relocation, drainage system relocation and layout, complete bridge replacement and intersection contours and side street profiles.  Scope of work included highway boundary survey, topographic survey, preliminary and final design phase, acquisition and easement and abandonment mapping.  In addition to surveying the property our staff was responsible for photo control, HEC2 analysis, right-of-way mapping and construction supervision.

Resident Project Representative duties included shop-drawing reviews, coordination of work with bi-weekly job meetings, daily inspection of Contractor’s work to ensure conformance with plans and specifications. This included  work with earthwork, water, storm and pavement items, maintenance and protection of traffic, removal of super structure and new bridge installation with striping.  The project record content and preparation was completed in accordance to the NYSDOT Manual For Uniform Record Keeping (MURK).

WESTFALL ROAD IMPROVEMENTS (BRIGHTON, NEW YORK)

Client: Monroe County Department of Transportation

Our firm played an important role in this Monroe County commissioned 4,600 LF reconstruction of a busy suburban road in Brighton, New York. Survey staff established right-of-way lines and acquisitions, completed both a centerline stakeout and topographical survey and measurement of existing sight distance for design. Design plans included a 31' box culvert in conjunction with our subconsultant, Lu Engineers, 3,400 L.F. of water main improvements, new hydrants and storm sewer catch basins and piping, and modifications to two signalized intersections, including loop detectors and pedestrian signals, vertical sight distance improvement to the main line roadway and horizontal sight distance at intersections. Construction phase responsibilities included supervision of roadway reconstruction and bridge replacement, review of shop drawings, design alternatives, change orders, estimate of quantities, keeping records of cost of construction per the NYSDOT Manual For Uniform Record Keeping (MURK), reporting and public relations with residents.
